You can loot all the food lying around, and you can get your sneak skill up by attacking the only person left there, Razelan. You can go all the way up to the room where the Stone is. Go around to the back yard to the door where you left the main building and enter the building from there. Once there, you can pick the gate open, there are about 3 Thalmor in the front yard and about 3 in back. You can also find this by going back to Thalmor Embassy by fast travel. You have to find this during or after the main quest: Diplomatic Immunity. Thalmor Embassy : Pre Patch 1.5: In Elenwen's Solar in the Thalmor Embassy, in one of the bedrooms. And not constantly reading guides and stuff at the same time (I hate spoilers).Įven if I didn't do things in the right order, that shouldn't be a reason for the game to actually GLITCH.After you have acquired one Barenziah Stone, you can get it appraised by Vex at the Ragged Flagon in Riften. And I was actually playing the game how you're supposed to play it, by it. IT seemed liked a completely arbitrary thing. The whole "selling the amulet to Calixto" had no concrete connection in importance to anything else in the quest. Therefore I did not think to sell it to Calixto. I had no reason at the time to even think the Amulet was important. Yeah some people would say, "well of course it didn't work because you didn't do everything in the right order." That's not the freaking point. Attack, beat to 0 hp, won't die, won't talk. He attacked me on sight, I beat him down to 0 HP but he didn't die. But I followed the quest arrow to Hjerim, went in and found Calixto. It was 10 in the morning and I had just stepped out of the palace and of course never saw Calixto do anything. I get the objective "Patrol the gray quarter at night." I think, ok, I'll do that.īut, as soon as I step out of the Palace of Kings, I get the "completed" message for the Patrolling objective, and then the objective "catch the killer" or whatever it's called. I forget I even have the strange amulet.Ī few days later I start the second part of the quest by talking to Wuunferth in jail. My character somehow "knew" that Wuunferth was involved, as I clicked the dialogue option "Wuunferth did it" or something. There was nothing in-game to indicate to me that the Strange Amulet was important in any way, and I didn't need the extra gold, so I just went straight to the Jarl's steward with the journals and stuff. I never sold the amulet to Calixto in the first place. ![]()
